February to May
Spring is a beautiful time of year here, with very little rain and green
everywhere. The ocean gets calmer and warmer, as temperature rises. Nights are pleasant, sweaters are rarely called for.
June to August
The summer in Playa is hot. Blue sky prevails. This is also when the sea is the calmest, and shows its best crystal clear turquoise hues.
The water is so warm you can stay there for hours. Rain falls after a hot day bu only for an hour or so.
There can be some wicked thunder storms this time of year. Nights do not get cooler.
Thin cotton clothes and hats or caps are the best wear choice this time of year in addition to your beach wear.
Donīt forget your sunscreen lotion and a fresh drink in your hands.
September and October
September and October is the time for tropical storms and hurricanes.
That doesn't mean there are hurricanes every year, but it is usually rainy and windy this time of year.
It is the period of more persistent rain, but still warm.
November to January
November, December and January are the coolest months here, which means it's very comfortable. There might be some rain, but not on a daily basis.
This time of year nights can be chilly (we have seen temperatures drop down as far as 12C!).
Cooler winds from the North often find their way to Playa, but please remember that the sun is still powerful, what means that you can wear your
swimming suit during the day and take the jacket from the suitcase in the evenings.
